Your 2026 Dutch healthcare allowance (zorgtoeslag), rent allowance (huurtoeslag) and child budget (kindgebonden budget) in euros a month, from your income, savings, rent and household, using the official 2026 maximums, thresholds and phase-out rates.
Private: everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing you enter here is sent to us or stored.
Open a step for the sum with your figures, what the step does, and what the Dutch terms mean.
What this step does: Help with the cost of your health insurance. The full amount at low incomes, then it goes down as your income rises, until it stops. It stops completely if your savings are above the limit.
The full amount up to the threshold income, then 13.73% of the income above it comes off the yearly amount. Within a few euros of the official table.
What this step does: Help with the rent of an independent home. It depends on your rent, your household and your income, and stops when your savings are above the limit.
You pay the first € 202,52 of the rent yourself. Above that the allowance covers 100%, 65% and 40% of the rent in three bands, minus 27% of your income above € 23.425.
What this step does: An extra contribution for children under 18, on top of child benefit. It goes down above an income threshold (higher for couples).
What is a toeslagpartner?
Broadly: a spouse, registered partner, or someone you live with under specific conditions (e.g. a joint mortgage, a child together, or previously registered as partners). It is a legal definition, not simply "anyone you live with".
Why do the real Toeslagen amounts differ from this estimate?
The actual formulas (basishuurformule, eigen bijdrage) are not perfectly linear the way this simplified model assumes. Also, only zorgtoeslag's vermogenstoets (asset test) is checked here. Huurtoeslag and kindgebonden budget have their own separate asset limits that could still disqualify you even though this tool shows an amount for them.
Can toeslagen be reclaimed later?
Yes, if your actual income ends up higher than estimated, Toeslagen can claim back an overpayment the following year, so it is worth updating your estimated income during the year if it changes significantly.

Zorgtoeslag follows the official 2026 formula: the maximum, minus 13.73% of the income above the threshold, with the asset limit checked. Huurtoeslag follows the simplified 2026 system (shares of the rent above the minimum own contribution, minus a fixed share of the income above the threshold) and can differ by a few euros through rounding. Kindgebonden budget adds up each child's age-band amount and does not model the extra amounts for larger families exactly. The asset limits for huurtoeslag and kindgebonden budget are not checked.
